Linking a Family

A family account shows a parent their child's teams, attendance, schedule and the notes coaches shared with the family.

  1. Open the player's page and go to Family.
  2. Enter the parent's email and click Invite a Parent. Coach Binder emails the link. The page also shows the link once.
  3. The parent opens the link and logs in or creates an account.
  4. The parent clicks the Join button on the page that opens. The child then appears on their family home.
Parents
A parent can link several children. A child can have several parents.
Players 13 or older
Invite the player to an account of their own.
Younger players
Never hold an account.

The Family Home

Player cards
One card per child, with teams, numbers, attendance and the notes coaches shared with the family.
Details
Information your organization shares with your family, such as a jersey size. Other families never see your child's details.
Edit Details
Opens a form for the details your organization asks families to keep up to date. Click Save Details to keep them. Your child's coaches see each change.
Working On
The open goals of your child's active plan, first on the card. Each goal shows its skill area, its target and what the coaches look for at that target. A skill area in a category shows the category's name first. Appears once a coach shares the plan.
Development Plan
The goals your child works toward, with targets, dates and statuses. Appears once a coach shares the plan.
Training
Lessons, camps and other sessions outside the team schedule. Appears once a coach shares a record.
Progress
A chart for each skill area, built only from the assessments a coach shared. Charts sit under the club's category headings. The dashed line is the target of the shared plan's goal. Appears once a coach shares an assessment.
Skill Ratings
The date, scores and notes of one assessment. Scores sit under the club's category headings. Each score shows what the coaches look for at that step. Appears once a coach shares the assessment.
Registrations
Registrations and signups, with their status, price and whether each is paid.
Messages
The newest messages coaches sent to your account. See Messages From Coaches.
Schedule
Upcoming events for the children's teams. A canceled event stays in the list, crossed out and marked Canceled. An event a coach marked Private never shows.
Where
The rink's name opens a map. The saved address shows under the name.
Sessions with another group
A session your child joins through a custom roster, or alone, appears too. A calendar link covers one team. The session does not appear on that team's calendar.
Calendar buttons
One button for each calendar a coach shares with families. Each button reads the calendar's name, such as the team's name.
Adding a calendar
Click a calendar button and select Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook. Click Copy Link for any other calendar app.
A child missing from the page needs an invitation. Ask your coach to send an invitation.

Messages From Coaches

Lists the messages your child's coaches sent to your account, newest first. Each message also arrives by email.

One email per address
Each family gets its own email. No family sees another family's address.
On the family home
The Messages panel shows the 10 newest messages sent to your account. Other families never see them.
Replying
A reply to the email reaches a coach on the team. The email names that coach.
Schedule notices
A message about a schedule change, such as a canceled practice.

Every email ends with a link to stop message emails from that organization.

  1. Open the stop link at the bottom of any message email.
  2. Click Stop Emails. Opening the link alone stops nothing.
  3. To get message emails again, open the same link and click Start Emails Again.
A stopped address still gets schedule notices by email. Every message still appears on the family home.
