Searching

Every word you type must match, in any order. Callahan Reid finds Reid Callahan.

Result TypeMatches On
Notes The note text.
Events Title, location and description. A game also matches its opponent, rink and locker room. A practice also matches its focus and its plan's blocks. A date or a weekday matches the day the event is on.
Players Name, nickname, position such as goalie, jersey number or a custom field value.
Teams Name, abbreviation, age group, level or a custom field value.
Plans Name, description, tags and the names of its blocks.
Drills Name, description, setup notes and tags.
Opponents Team name, association and age group.
Locations Rink name, address and city.
  1. Type in the search box in the menu. Press / on any page to move to the box.
  2. Press Enter to open the results. On the Search page itself, results update as you type.
  3. When the search finds one result, Enter opens that result.

A word also finds its other forms in events, plans and drills. Forechecking finds Forecheck.

A date reads as Nov 9, November 9 2026 or 11/9. A date without a year matches that day in any year.

The group holding a result whose name has every word you typed comes first. Liam shows the player Liam before notes about him.

Notes, events and teams come from the season the menu shows. A player's team also comes from that season. Click All Seasons at the top of the page to search every season.

Results

Each group shows its total and up to 20 results.

GroupEach Result Shows
Notes The matching words, where the note is filed, any mentioned players and the author.
Plans Minutes, version and tags.
Drills Minutes, tags and source.
Events Team, date and location. A practice found by its focus or plan names the focus tag or block.
Players Birth year, position, number and team.
Opponents Opponent or Association, then the association and age group.
Locations The address.
Teams Team or Program, age group, level and season. A team found by a custom field names the field.

What Search Leaves Out

Search leaves out anything you cannot see.

Hidden teams
Search never returns an event from a team you cannot see.
Private notes
Search never returns another author's private note.
Deleted events
Search never returns a deleted event.
Opponents and rinks
Opponents and Locations appear only for a role that may view those pages.
How
The search itself leaves out those items. Hidden items never load onto the page.
Other organizations
Every result comes from your current organization. Search never finds a player with the same name in another organization.
