Team and Type

Sets the team or program that owns the event, then the event's type. Select a season in the switcher first.

Team or Program
The team or program the event belongs to. Choosing a team or program sets the event's roster, coaches and defaults. A program is a clinic, camp or training group outside any team.
Type
The kind of event, such as Practice or Game. Choosing a type sets the detail fields below and the panels on the event page. Event Details lists every type.
You cannot change the team once the event exists. To change the type, see Changing the Type. A program cannot have a game or an evaluation.

Event Details

Sets the date, time and location for the event, then the details for its type. The fields follow the order of the printed sheet. Every event starts with these fields.

Custom Title
Optional. Leave blank to name the event from its details. A game shows its game type and opponent. A practice shows its first two Focus skills.
Status
Available only when you create an event. To change the status later, use the event page.
Starts
Start date and time. Setting this automatically sets Ends to one hour later, or to the Ice Slot's length.
Ends
End date and time. Changing this recalculates Ice Slot to match.
Time Zone
The rink's time zone. Starts and Ends are times in this zone. A new event starts with its team's zone. See Time Zones.
Location
Select a saved location from the suggestions, or type a new name to open New Location.

The remaining fields depend on the event type.

TypeFields for the Type

Game Game Type, Opponent, Home / Away, Rink, Locker Room, Officials / Notes, Online Score Card

Ice Slot (min)
Ice time in minutes. A blank Ice Slot fills with the minutes from Starts to Ends. Changing Ice Slot moves Ends to match. Imported events fill Ice Slot the same way.
Ice Size
How much of the ice the session uses. Ice Size prints on the sheet. Ice Size also sets the rink drawn for any drill without a picture.
Game Type
The kind of game. The game's title starts with this type.
Opponent
Select a team from your opponents on the Opposition page, or type a new name. New names go to the Review tab for you to check.
Home / Away
Home, Away or Neutral.

Event Titles

An event without a Custom Title takes its title from its details.

EventTitle Without a Custom Title
Game The game type and opponent, such as Game vs. Mustangs.
Practice The first two Focus skills, such as Breakouts and Support Practice.
Training The Training Focus, such as Speed Training.
Any other event The type, such as Meeting.
A practice with no Focus The type, Practice.

Families, public pages and calendar links never show the Focus. They show the type, such as Practice.

On the Events list and a team's schedule, the Title cell stays blank when the title is only the type. Click the type to open the event.

Editing an Event

Click the Settings tab on the event page to change the event's type, time and place.

Status
Not on the Settings tab. Change the status on the event page.
Session fields
Not on the Settings tab. Fill in Focus, Agenda, Online Score Card and other session fields on the event page. Each change there saves immediately.
Attendance and notes
Not on the Settings tab. Record attendance and notes on the event page.
Drafts
Leaving the Settings tab without saving keeps your edits as a draft. Click Save to keep the edits. Click Cancel to undo the edits.
A Completed event's Settings tab opens locked. Click Unlock to Edit to open the fields for the rest of your visit.

Time Zones

Each event has its own time zone. Type the times on the rink's clock, then select the rink's zone.

New events
Start with the team's time zone. Changing the team moves the zone too, unless you selected a zone.
Changing Time Zone
Keeps the times you typed. The event now happens at those times in the new zone.
Imported events
The calendar sets the moment. Changing Time Zone rewrites Starts and Ends to the same moment in the new zone.
Where times show
Every page, print, email and calendar link shows the event at the rink's time.

A time outside Arizona time shows its zone name after the time, such as Eastern.

Set a team's default zone on the team's Edit page. Set the organization's default in Organization Settings.

Changing the Type

Changes a saved event to another type, such as a practice that is really a game.

  1. On the event page, click the Settings tab.
  2. In the Event Details panel, select the new type in Type. The fields below change to match.
  3. Fill in the new fields, such as Opponent.
  4. Click Save.

Attendance Stays. A meeting or other event hides attendance.
The plan Stays. A type without a plan hides the plan until the type changes back. The band says so. The event page shows a note.
The event's Activity Names the type and every field that changed. Empty game fields created by the change are left out.
Schedule notice A change to or from a game offers Send Schedule Notice. See Schedule Notices.
Imported events Keep the new type. The calendar source never changes a type.
A game with a score, stats, a game log or lines cannot change type. Clear the score, stats, game log and lines on the event page first.
A program cannot have a game or an evaluation.
