The Library

Lists every plan in the workspace in a sortable table. Open a plan to edit, duplicate or archive the plan.

An event is a practice, game or other session on the schedule. Attaching a plan gives the event its own copy.

Used In
The number of events with a copy of the plan.
Last Used
The date of the most recent event with a copy of the plan.
Badge
Marks a plan made from a photo or PDF.
Age Group, Tags
Select one or more values to narrow the list. The list shows plans that match any selected value.
Length
Select a length to show only plans of that many minutes or less.
Archived
Select Shown to list archived plans.
Filter box
Type to search plan names, descriptions, objectives, tags and age groups.
Page address
The address includes your filters. A copied link opens the same filtered list.
On a phone
Tap Filters beside the search to show or hide the filters. The button counts the active filters.

Plan Details

Sets the plan's name, ice time, audience and goals. Click Details in the toolbar above the blocks to open Plan Details.

Details
Opens Plan Details under the Add row. Click Details again or the close button to close it. A new plan opens with Plan Details open.
Name
The plan's name in the library and on the plan sheet.
Designed For
The minutes of ice the plan is built for, from 5 to 300. Click the minus or plus button to change the minutes by one, or type a number. The Add row reads the plan's minutes against this length. The plan saves this value.
Age Groups
The age groups the plan suits. Use these to filter the library.
Focus
Labels for what the plan works on. Use these to search and filter the library. The season planner counts block skills, not these labels.
Description
One line describing the plan.
Objectives
Goals for the session, one per line. Each line shows as a numbered goal. With Plan Details closed, the goals show as one line above the blocks.
Put skills on the blocks, not in the objectives. The season planner counts the skills on blocks and the tags on drills. The planner lays out the season week by week.

Blocks

A block is one part of a practice plan, such as a drill or a water break. The blocks, in order, make up the practice.

Each block has a name, a kind, minutes and notes. Some fields show only on some kinds.

Focus
Drill and Game blocks, stations included. What the block works on, such as Warmup or Build Confidence. Your organization sets the list on the Plan Focus page.
Drill Version
Library drills with two versions or more, stations included. The drill version the block copies. Select a version to copy its name, skills and equipment. The block keeps its own minutes, notes and coaches.
Rink
Drill and Game blocks, stations included. The empty rink the block prints when it has no picture.
Skills
Drill and Game blocks. The skills the block works. The season planner counts these skills.
Equipment
Drill and Game blocks, stations included. A Stations header adds up the equipment of its stations.
Example Two drills, a Stations header with its three stations and a break. The foot totals the minutes.

Choose the kind that fits each part of practice.

KindWhat the Kind Is For
Drill One drill. Type a name to see matching drills from the library.
Game A game played at practice, such as 3 on 3 cross ice. A Game block holds the same fields as a drill. Its Rules box holds the game's rules. Type a name to see matching games from the library.
Stations A header for drills that run at the same time. Groups rotate through the stations. The header's minutes are the rotation times the number of stations.
Break A pause, such as water, a talk or a flood.
Misc A heading, notes or pictures in the running order, such as a scrimmage or a warm up. A Misc block has no minutes and adds none to the total. The block prints as a heading, in capitals between heavy rules.
Paper Plan Photos or PDF pages of a plan drawn on paper. The pages print in order. Minutes are optional. The add bar does not offer Paper Plan for now.

A Stations header claims the drill or game blocks directly below it. Each station is a block of its own, with every drill field.

Color
The header's color. Each of its stations shows the color in its head band. A new header takes a color no other header uses.
Rotation
The minutes every station runs. Each station shows the rotation as its minutes, such as 6 min rotation.
Stations
How many stations the header holds, from 1 to 12. Click the plus to add an empty station. A drill below the header never joins. Click the minus to let the last station go. The released block stays in the plan. An empty station goes.
Setup
Lists the stations by number. Click a name to open that station.
Gear
Adds up the equipment of every station. The stations are on the ice at the same time.
Numbering
A header and its stations count as one block. The stations number 1, 2, 3 inside the header.

Move a drill or a game between two stations to make it a station. Move a station out from under the header to make it a plain block. A header moves with its stations. Removing a header keeps its stations as plain blocks.

Building the Plan

Builds a library plan in the same workspace as a practice's Plan tab. The event page article covers the workspace in full.

Edit and View
Appear in the page header. Edit opens the workspace. View shows the running order to read, timed from the first minute of the plan. On a phone, the pencil above the plan switches them.
Add row
Each button adds a block of that kind after the open block. The row ends with the plan's minutes against Designed For.
Time strip
Shows the plan as one bar, sized by each block's minutes. Drag a block to move it. Drag the line between two blocks to move minutes between them.
Running Order
Lists every block with its number, minutes and name. Click a block to open it beside the list. Drag a block to move it.
Open block
Shows every field of the block selected in Running Order. A drill or a game groups its fields under Drill, Equipment and Ice, and This Plan.
Plan Note
A note on one block of the plan. Each practice that takes the plan copies the note as its Practice Note.
Library drill
Shows the saved drill's words, skills, equipment and files. Click Unlink and Edit to change them in this plan.
Suggested drill
Select a suggested drill to copy its name, minutes, equipment and skills into the block. Later changes to the drill do not change the block.
Drills and games
The suggestions list every library drill and game. Picking a game makes the block a game. Picking a drill makes it a drill.
Steps
Shows on a drill or a station. Press Enter to add a step. The steps print under the notes.
Rules
Shows on a Game block. Press Enter to add a rule. The rules print under the notes, below a Rules label.
Rink
Shows on a drill, a game or a station with no picture. Choose the empty rink the block prints for sketching. Booked Ice uses the event's Ice Size.
Summary
A card beside the blocks. Lists the objectives, the equipment and the skills tagged on the blocks. In View, the card also shows the total minutes and the number of blocks.
⌘S or Ctrl+S
Saves the plan into the current version, as Save does. To add a version, click Ways to Save, the arrow beside Save. Then click Save New Version.

Drawings in Dark Mode

Dark mode shows drawings with light lines on dark. Each pen keeps close to its own color.

What turns over
A PDF page, or a photo shown Redrawn or Cleaned Up. A photo as taken never changes.
Where
Drill files, the planner, the run order and the full size page. Paper never changes.
Dark Mode Drawings
On Settings, under Pictures. Pick As Drawn to show every drawing with dark lines on white.
Flip Colors

Crop
Click a photo to see it bigger, then click Crop. One photo added alone opens in its crop frame by itself. A crop or a switch to Original saves as a new copy of the photo. A practice that already has the photo keeps the old copy.
Video
A clip of up to 100 MB, about one minute. The tile shows Converting for about a minute. Then the clip plays. A video never prints. Add to Drill Library leaves videos on the plan.
No Sound
Click a video to open it, then click No Sound. The plan keeps a new copy of the video with no sound. A practice that already has the video keeps the old copy.
Loop
Click a video to open it, then click Loop. The video plays again from the start each time it ends. Play Once stops the repeat.
Drill
Marks a file on the library drill the block came from. Add or remove those files on the drill's page.
Add to Drill Library
Shows on a drill or a station typed by hand. Saves the drill to the drill library with its files. Needs Drill Library at Edit.

A block's own picture prints in place of its drill's picture. Links print under the notes.

The box lists the block's own files first, then the drill's. Each list keeps its own order.

ChangeBlock's Own FilesDrill's Files
Move a file Click Move Earlier or Move Later. Click Save to keep the order. Click Move Earlier or Move Later. The drill saves the order at once.
Write a caption Open the file and type in Caption. Click Save Caption, then Save. Open the file and type in Caption. Click Save Caption. The drill saves it at once.

  1. On the computer, open the block's picture. On a drill, click Add Media.
  2. Click Phone Photo. A code appears.
  3. Point your phone camera at the code. Tap the link that appears.
  4. Tap Take a Photo, or tap Choose Photos for photos already on the phone.
  5. Watch the photo arrive on the computer. On a plan, click Save to keep the photos.
